I've tried taking exams at PUP (PUPCET) and UP (UPCAT) na naipasa ko naman pareho. And these are my tips on how to ace both exams: PUPCET: -held from October-February (depends on schedule posted, but it's Sunday) -madali lang to, it's a 3-part exam -Part I is Verbal Reasoning which covers 4 subjects, English (50 items), Flipino (10 items), Gen. Information (20 items), and Science (20 items) -Sa English, it covers topics about grammar (correct usage of verbs/tenses), reading comprehension, and analogy. -Sa Filipino, basic knowledge, tungkol lang sa balarila at sa mga pangngalan, pandiwa, pang abay, panghalip. Junghans mega solar titan bedienungsanleitung deutsch jbl 3. -General Information, is what most students find hard to answer. This covers all topics under the sun kaya nga General Information. But most questions are under History (World War), Geography, Current Events and People. You should be a wide reader to be able to answer those questions easily. Double click on My Computer Icon on your desktop 3. Now you will find list of all the fonts installed on your machine. -Science focuses more on Biology, particularly on topics like Punnet's square. Remember mo lang yung mga terms dun like heterogeneous and homogeneous pati yung heredity papasa ka na. Syempre me topic sa Physics, pero about force lang yun. Sa chemistry naman, mga simple elements. Walang bonding na topic dun. Syempre puro computation dito. It's a 50-item exam, and para sakin, madali lang to, basta alam mo yung conversion from fraction-decimal and vice versa. Know also your simple algebra, kasi most questions are looking for X, na palagi na lang nawawala.:D -Part III is Non-Verbal Reasoning, also called Abstract Reasoning. Dito wag ka nang magreview. Simple logic will do, minsan hinahanap yung hindi kasama sa group, and minsan yung next figure, which is typical in all Abstract Reasoning Exams. -Just finish it on time. Unahin ang madali. And don't leave any questions unanswered. Papasa ka dyan.:D UPCAT: -held every August. -Results are posted every January at their site. -almost the same as PUPCET, yun nga lang, it's complicated kaya maraming hindi napasa. -It's a 5 hour exam with no break, meaning continuous, pede kang kumain habang nageexam pero bawal lumabas. -Subjects covered are also same as PUPCET, yun nga lang yung arrangement ng exam is nakalimutan ko na. -Now, this is what makes the exam compicated: For every wrong answer, it's a -1/4 point to your score. (example, in a 50-item exam, nakakuha ka ng 35 points, tas mali mo e 12, so 12x1/4=3. Bale yung 35 points mo e magiging 32 nalang.) -Now, you might ask kung bakit 12 ang mali sa 50-item exam samantalang 35 ang tama. Bali yung 3 points na nawawala, let's assume, e hindi mo sinagutan, so yung 3 points na yun won't bear anything in your score. -So, as a tip, pag di mo talaga alam, wag mo sagutan. Kasi pag sinagutan mo tas mali ka, may minus ka. Pag di mo sinagutan, no effect yun. ![]() Basta ang ranking ng school, para sakin, from pinakamaraming nagaaply,e UPD, UPM, UPLB (and other UP branch). SO, kung gusto mo sureball na makapasok sa UP, choose your first campus as UPLB and first choice na course dun sa medyo hindi in demand. Anyways, meron naman tinatawag na 'shifting', basta ang importante e makapasok sa UP.:D Comparisons between PUPCET and UPCAT: -UPCAT's Mechanics are more complicated than PUPCET -UPCAT's sets of questions are almost the same as PUPCET's. -PUPCET's admission is based on score (75% and above) while UPCAT's admission is on a quota basis. Basta remember mo lang na kung gusto mo pumasa, believe in Him.:D *edited typographical errors:D -- edited by thoriffic on Apr 21 2010, 11:49 AM • on April 21, 2010 09:59 AM.
